A public artwork for the Royal Institution of Australia (RiAus)

‘The Exchange’ is an art installation commissioned by RiAus to celebrate its opening in the former Adelaide Stock Exchange and echoes a stock exchange ‘ticker tape’ as it runs ribbon-like around the building’s exterior. Scrolling LED text features inspirational science-related poetry and quotes, as a manifestation of RiAus’ mission to promote scientific thought and ideas.

Conceived by David Kerr and Karl Meyer, the ambitious 20-metre long structure was brought into reality by Exhibition Studios’ design and construction team. It was a feature piece of the RiAus public launch in October 2009 with text works by John Kinsella.
